Delivery costs are primarily determined by distance from the 2ND LIFE warehouse in Alexandria, as well as access conditions and operational requirements.

4. Delivery Attendance and Waiting Time
The client or an authorised representative is expected to be present at the property to receive the delivery unless unattended delivery has been authorised in advance.
If the delivery team arrives at the property and the client is not present or access cannot be provided, the following waiting policy applies.
A waiting fee of $50 per 30 minutes may apply.
Waiting time begins 10 minutes after arrival at the property.
Once waiting time exceeds 10 minutes, the first 30-minute waiting period becomes chargeable.
If waiting time exceeds 30 minutes, an additional 30-minute waiting fee may be charged for each subsequent 30-minute period.
Waiting fees may be applied in addition to delivery charges and other applicable fees.
If access cannot be provided within a reasonable time, the delivery may be treated as a failed delivery attempt in accordance with Section 5.
5. Failed Delivery Attempts
If delivery cannot be completed due to:
- absence of the client
- inability to access the property
- refusal to accept the items
- unsafe delivery conditions
the delivery may be treated as a failed delivery attempt.
Where items must be returned to the warehouse, the following charges may apply:
Unload Fee
50% of the original delivery cost.
Storage Fee
$25 per square metre per day until the next delivery date.
New Delivery Fee
A new delivery fee will apply for re-delivery.
6. Unattended Deliveries
Where the client provides prior written authorisation for unattended delivery:
- Items may be placed in a location considered reasonably safe by the delivery team
- Risk transfers to the client once items are placed at the property
- 2ND LIFE assumes no responsibility for theft, damage, or weather exposure after placement
7. Delivery Scheduling and Time Windows
Delivery appointments operate within a 4-hour arrival window.
Any specific time communicated during booking is an estimated arrival time only and may vary depending on operational conditions.
Clients must ensure that someone is available to receive the delivery during the confirmed window.
If 2ND LIFE fails to attend within the agreed delivery window due to internal operational delays, the delivery will be rescheduled at no additional delivery charge.
8. Access Responsibility
Clients are responsible for ensuring that all access points (including doorways, hallways, lifts and stairs) are suitable for the items being delivered.
If delivery cannot be completed due to unsuitable access conditions that were not disclosed in advance, the delivery may be treated as a failed delivery attempt and applicable fees may apply.
9. Same-Day Deliveries
Where operationally possible, 2ND LIFE may perform deliveries within the same business day as scheduled.
Clients must remain available within the delivery window to facilitate completion.
If the client cannot accommodate delivery during the scheduled window, rescheduling may require a new delivery fee.
10. Insurance and Liability
2ND LIFE maintains vehicle and transit coverage for major incidents during transport.
Minor scratches, marks or wear consistent with the handling of second-hand goods are not considered damage.
All items supplied by 2ND LIFE are second-hand and subject to the condition standards defined in the Rehoming & Delivery Policy.
